The office press release from the Grand Rapids Arts Council States:
“Since 2005, the Grand Rapids Arts Council (GRAC) has been hosting the annual Sunset Jazz & Art Festival, a premier heritage event and the longest-running jazz festival in the area. The event is held on the towpath between the old Miami and Erie canal and the Maumee River, a beautiful setting for attendees to enjoy the best jazz musicians in Northwest Ohio. Featuring live jazz performances and the work of many artists for sale, sandwiches and snacks will also be sold by the local Boy Scout Troop 325, as well as wine and beer from GRAC. In addition to the Jazz line-up this year, we have invited the local plein air artists‘ group to join us and do live painting of the village, the river and the fest. Their work may also be available for purchase.
The Grand Rapids Arts Council is pleased and extremely thankful for the very generous continuing support of presenting sponsor, Georgeann Kohn of the Optical Shop and Suzanne Carroll, past emcee of The Jazz Brunch on radio program. In addition, this event could not take place without local support from Grand Rapids businesses, the Village of Grand Rapids administration and numerous volunteers. Gifts-in-Kind are also provided by The Huntington Bank, Vitakraft-Sunseed, Hosanna Lutheran Church, Mark Melnek of Westridge Artsign, Towpath Radio and Friendship Marathon.“
