Silent Film Night Coming to Grand Rapids Town Hall

GRAND RAPIDS, OH – Classic cinema returns to the Historic Grand Rapids Town Hall on Saturday, February 22, 2025, as the Town Hall Committee and Historical Society present a special silent movie night.
The event will feature Buster Keaton’s 1924 classic Sherlock Jr. along with two short films, The Playhouse and The Frozen North. Acclaimed pianist Lynne Long will provide live musical accompaniment.
Keaton, known for his daring stunts and comedic genius, stars in Sherlock Jr. as a projectionist who dreams of becoming a detective. The film, recognized by the Library of Congress for its cultural significance, showcases his signature physical comedy and groundbreaking visual effects.
Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at Village Orchard, at the door, or by calling 419-206-1512. Proceeds will benefit Town Hall improvements, and attendees will have a chance to win a special movie-themed door prize.
The show runs from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. in the Town Hall auditorium.
