Whitehouse to Dedicate Pedestrian Bridge in Honor of Fallen Soldier

WHITEHOUSE, Ohio — On May 8, 2025, the Village of Whitehouse will dedicate a new pedestrian bridge in memory of U.S. Army Sergeant Andy Eckert, who was killed in action while serving in Iraq on May 8, 2005.

The dedication ceremony will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 8, at the site of the bridge, located along the bike path between Cemetery Road and Finzel Road. The event is expected to last approximately 30 minutes.

Seating will be limited, but the public is invited to attend. Primary parking will be available at 10100 Waterville Street. Additional parking will be available along Cemetery Road, which will be closed during the ceremony, with traffic restricted to local residents and event attendees.
