GRAND RAPIDS, Ohio — After last weekend’s event was canceled due to winter weather, Grand Rapids has officially rescheduled its annual Light Up the Night holiday celebration for Saturday, Dec. 20, 2025.
The community event will take place throughout downtown Grand Rapids, with festively decorated shops and restaurants open until 8:00 p.m. for evening shopping and dining.
Family-friendly activities will run throughout the afternoon and evening, including a free hot cocoa bar, Santa appearances, crafts, and cookie decorating from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Old Fire Hall. The highlight of the evening, the Lighted Parade, is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m.
Organizers say the rescheduled date is expected to offer improved weather conditions compared to last weekend’s snow-related cancellation.
Community members interested in entering a parade float or volunteering for the event can find additional information at visitgrandrapidsohio.com.
Event organizers note that some activities originally scheduled for Dec. 13 were unable to be rescheduled for the new date and will not be part of the Dec. 20 celebration.
