Grand Rapids, Ohio — Village Council has begun reviewing a proposed agreement between the Village of Grand Rapids and the Northwestern Water and Sewer District.
An ordinance introduced during a recent council meeting would authorize the village to enter into an Assignment and Assumption Agreement with the district. The measure received its first reading and has not yet been approved.
The ordinance states the agreement is intended to help ensure reliable water and sewer services, maintain compliance with Ohio regulations, and protect public health and safety.
The specific terms of the agreement were not included in the ordinance document retrieved by NWO Community Media.
Village Council Meetings are held on the second and fourth Monday of every month at 6pm and open to the public.
