Grand Rapids, Ohio — A night of classic music and community support is coming to the historic Town Hall as a special tribute to John Denver takes the stage later this month.
The Grand Rapids Town Hall Committee and the Grand Rapids Historical Society have announced that Mike Nicol and the John Denver Tribute Concert Musicians will perform at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 16, in the Town Hall auditorium at 24282 Front Street.
Nicol, a multi-instrumentalist and longtime performer, developed his passion for music early in life, growing up in a musical family rooted in bluegrass, country, and gospel traditions. Over the years, he has performed in a variety of settings around the world and brings a deeply personal connection to the music he plays. His son, Micah Nicol, a professional bluegrass musician, will also be part of the performance.
The concert will feature an extensive lineup of regional musicians, including a full house band and members of the Ol’ Creek Road Band. Together, they will perform many of John Denver’s most beloved songs, celebrating his legacy of storytelling, nature-inspired lyrics, and timeless melodies.
Tickets are $10 and are available at The Village Orchard or at the door. Organizers say all proceeds will support continued renovations of the historic Town Hall.
