Old West End Festival Canceled Following Saturday Incident

Written by on June 7, 2026

TOLEDO, Ohio — Organizers of the Old West End Festival have canceled all remaining events scheduled for Sunday, June 7, following a shooting Saturday evening that injured multiple people near the festival grounds.

In a statement released Sunday, festival organizers said they were heartbroken for those affected and, after discussions with law enforcement and the City of Toledo, determined it would not be possible to continue the event.

“Too often we turn on the news and learn of a celebration somewhere that turns into a tragedy. Now, that news comes from our own neighborhood,” the statement said.

According to Toledo Police, at least 12 people were injured in the shooting, with victims ranging in age from 14 to 61. Authorities reported that two individuals were in critical condition. The incident occurred near Delaware Avenue and Glenwood Avenue Saturday evening.

Police continue to investigate and have not announced any arrests. Investigators believe more than one shooter may have been involved and are asking anyone with information, photos, or video to contact authorities.

The Old West End Festival is one of Northwest Ohio’s best-known annual community events, drawing visitors from across the region to Toledo’s historic Old West End neighborhood for tours, entertainment, local vendors, and community activities.

Anyone with information related to the investigation is encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers at 419-255-1111. Anonymous tips are accepted.
