Grand Rapids Announces Additional Brush Pickup Following Storm Damage

Written by on August 26, 2026

GRAND RAPIDS, Ohio — The Village of Grand Rapids will conduct a special curbside limb pickup on Monday, Aug. 31, to help residents clean up branches and limbs left behind by recent storms.

The additional pickup is being offered in response to storm damage and will be followed by the village’s regularly scheduled monthly limb pickup on Tuesday, Sept. 8.

Village officials remind residents that curbside pickup is limited to limbs and branches between one-half inch and four inches in diameter. Branches should be placed at the curb with the cut ends facing the street and must be out before 8 a.m. on pickup day.

The village will not collect vines, bushes, plants, grass clippings or leaves. Limb pickup is also not intended for tree or bush removal projects.

Grand Rapids normally provides curbside limb collection on the first Monday of each month from May through October, or Tuesday if the Monday falls on a holiday. Following severe storms, the village may schedule additional pickups, with the same collection guidelines remaining in effect.
