Rhythm on the River Continues with James Adkins Aug. 30

GRAND RAPIDS, Ohio — The Grand Rapids Historical Society’s Rhythm on the River Arts Series continues Sunday, Aug. 30, with a free performance by Ohio singer-songwriter James Adkins.
The concert begins at 4 p.m. at the Wright Pavilion, located along the towpath between the Miami & Erie Canal and the Maumee River at the end of Lincoln Street behind LaRoe’s Restaurant.
Known for blending Americana, folk, bluegrass and roots music, Adkins has spent more than two decades writing and performing original songs inspired by traditional American music. His performances feature storytelling, thoughtful lyrics and acoustic musicianship, and he has appeared at festivals and venues throughout the eastern United States.
Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets for the outdoor concert. In the event of rain, the performance will move to the Old Fire Station on Front Street.
Admission is free and open to the public.
