America 250 Lecture Series Continues Sept. 12 in Grand Rapids

GRAND RAPIDS, Ohio — The Grand Rapids Historical Society’s America 250 Lecture Series continues Saturday, Sept. 12, with a free presentation examining the Revolutionary War.

The lecture begins at 7 p.m. in the auditorium of the Historic Grand Rapids Town Hall, located at 24282 Front St.

The program will be presented by Dr. Dwayne Beggs, who taught U.S. history at Lourdes University for 14 years. His courses included the American Civil War, the Vietnam War, 20th Century America and U.S. history survey courses. Beggs earned both his master’s degree and doctorate in U.S. Policy History from Bowling Green State University, and his research focuses on the Vietnam War and presidential war powers.

The event is part of the Historical Society’s 13-part America 250 Lecture Series, which explores key events in American history from the Battle of Fallen Timbers through the Vietnam War.

Admission is free and open to the public.
