Severe Weather Possible Today (Wednesday)

Wood County, OH — Wood County emergency officials continue to closely monitor a round of severe weather expected to move through the area between 5:00 and 10:00 PM tonight. The region remains under an “Enhanced Risk” designation — Level 3 out of 5 — which has now been slightly expanded to include areas just west of the county.
According to the National Weather Service in North Webster, Indiana, there is high confidence in the potential for damaging storms. However, NWS Cleveland adds that these storms may begin to lose strength as they push into Ohio, leaving some uncertainty in the forecast.
Forecast Breakdown:
- 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM: Spotty showers and a possible thunderstorm, mostly north of the region.
- 4:00 PM – 10:00 PM: Strong to severe thunderstorms expected in waves. Main threats include:
- Wind gusts up to 60–70 mph
- Large hail
- Isolated tornado potential
Rain may linger into Thursday, with totals nearing 0.5 inches.
