Towpath Radio America 250 Lecture Continues Aug. 22

GRAND RAPIDS, Ohio — The Grand Rapids Historical Society’s America 250 Lecture Series continues Saturday, Aug. 22, with a free presentation focusing on Dresden Howard and his role in Northwest Ohio history.
The lecture begins at 7 p.m. in the auditorium of the Historic Grand Rapids Town Hall, located at 24282 Front St.
The presentation will be led by Peter Wilhelm, a Henry County native and historian with degrees in history, German, archival studies and local history from Bowling Green State University. Wilhelm has taught U.S. history and cultural geography at Northwest State Community College and has authored research on the history of Northwest Ohio, including The Draining of the Black Swamp.
The event is part of the Historical Society’s 13-part America 250 Lecture Series, which traces significant events in American history from the Battle of Fallen Timbers through the Vietnam War.
Admission is free and open to the public.
